Sprint’s Big Announcement: The HTC Arrive A Windows Phone 7 Device

Sprint is making a big announcement today via twitter. They’ve been hyping their next phone with the hashtag #comebackfeb24. The hashtag has only had a handfull of results.

The official Sprint twitter account @sprint has been tweeting promo messages about their next big phone announcement. All the clues like the one below point to a Windows Phone 7 Device’

Engadget reported yesterday that there was a place holder page on sprint.com for the HTC Arrive and Pocketnow went ahead and reported the whole thing.

Finish the story after the break

The HTC Arrive is a rebranded HTC 7 Pro with CDMA functionality.  We’ve received a tip that even though it will be introduced today it won’t be available in stores until after April 16th.  Sprint has sent their latest rebate cards to their stores which cover the rebate period from February 27th to April 16th with no HTC 7 Pro or HTC Arrive on them.  It’s unlikely that they’d print that many cards and send them to stores two days before an announcement like this if they were going to put the device in stores before the end of the new rebate period.

Features to the HTC Arrive are:

– Slide out qwerty keyboard with tilting screen
– 576mb of RAM
– 1ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor
– Windows Phone 7

Earlier in the year Sprint said that 70% of their new devices would be Android, putting one Windows Phone 7 device out doesn’t effect that 70%
