Vodafone has announced that they will carry the Nexus S in 24 countries across the world on contract. Currently, you can only purchase the Nexus S in Best Buy stores and Car Phone Warehouse in the UK unlocked.

Vodafone was a partner with the worldwide release of the Nexus One and we were expecting them to get the Nexus S at some point.  The Nexus S released in the United States in Mid December 2010 at Best Buy locations and it is still the only device shipping with Gingerbread, Android 2.3. The Vodafone version of the Nexus S will be available in both black and white.

Patrick Chomet, Vodafone’s Group Director of Terminals, said: “It’s great news that our customers will very soon be able to get Google’s Nexus S direct through our stores. At Vodafone we work closely with our partners across the industry to offer our customers a leading smartphone range that includes the latest innovations in product and user experience.”

DJ Lee, Head of Marketing at Samsung Mobile’s UK Operation said “I am very pleased to introduce this amazing mobile experience to Vodafone’s customers. Nexus S integrates Samsung’s best-in-class hardware and technology with Android’s stunning new features and user experiences.”

There is no date on the global release however those interested can sign up for more information at the Vodafone website.
