BREAKING: Verizon Wireless Pulls Skype Video From Forthcoming HTC Thunderbolt

Android Evangelist, Book Author, And Contributor to Geek.com, Russell Holly, is reporting on geek.com that Skype Video is being pulled from the forthcoming HTC Thunderbolt. As a very aggressive rumor debunker we can trust the internal email Holly has posted with the article.

The ThunderBolt by HTC trainings have been updated and replaced in InfoCenter.

The Skype Mobile with Video references have been removed.

As you can see there isn’t much more information available at this time and they could have pulled it for any reason. We have also pinged our sources at HTC to see what is going on.  Skype with video was no secret at CES. At the time both HTC and Skype were promoting, and demoing the product and telling everyone it would be on the HTC Thunderbolt at rollout.

Perhaps Verizon will bow to pressure as they did when it was first reported that they were squashing Wifi hotspot which was immediately turned around. Stay tuned for more info!

  1. Verizon was never a great company… ever. They have a tempting selection of phones & CDMA quality but it ends there.

  2. Since I don’t live in the US I can only read about your problems. But it really seems that Verizon isn’t such a great company after all… Sometimes they seem to make random decisions..
