For many early 20 somethings, like myself, the T-Mobile (Danger) Sidekick was our first smartphone experience. In comparison to today’s smartphones the original sidekick was big and bulky but boy was it cool. It seemed at one time that everyone had one even the Paris Hilton’s and Lindsay Lohan’s of the world. The unique flip top keyboard made for real quick texting, emailing and sharing. Of course in retrospect it’s easy to see why it was so succesful, Andy Rubin was at the helm.
So of course last week when T-Mobile held their investor meetings and officially announced the T-Mobile Sidekick 4G was on the way, and to top it off it would be running Android, I was thrilled. It quickly became the phone I am waiting for.
Tmo news has received some “in the wild” pics of the new Sidekick 4G and revealed some important details. Firt off it seems that this newest Sidekick is made by Samsung as a picture displays the Samsung logo. There is also a front facing camera and it’s said to be running Android 2.2.1
