Often sensationalistic site Pop Herald has made us aware of a screen shot and a video of a Nexus S in Germany running Android 2.4 although we are only on Android 2.3, Gingerbread. We just recently found out that the next version of Android (presumably for handsets) is Ice Cream Sandwich, could this be the Android 2.4 this guy is playing with in the video?
Despite having actual hands on time and interview time with carrier and manufcaturer executives last week at CES, popherald.com speculates that the Droid Bionic and the HTC Thunderbolt may come out with this new “2.4” version of Android. That is highly unlikely. According to our sources most if not all of the 4G Android devices released at CES are going to come out of the gate running Android 2.2 Froyo because it is the most stable version of Android and the one tested in new network settings WiMax, LTE and HSPA+
Check out some video after the break
We have no reason to think that the Thunderbolt or the Bionic will see this mystery version of Android, however it’s out there so we reported it and you can decide…
