Digitimes is reporting via their sources that are “notebook players” that Nvidia’s Tegra 2 chip is alligning themselves to take over 50% of the Arm based tablet shipments in 2011.

According to Digitimes, Nvidia Tegra 2 chips will be in tablet pcs by Acer, Asustek, Toshiba and Samsung.  Samsung’s 1ghz Humminghird processor is featured in the Galaxy S line of smartphones along with the Samsung Galaxy Tab. It was reported earlier that the next wave of Samsung tablets would feature their own line of Orion processors so we will have to wait and see on that.

At the most recent Pepcom event in New York city we saw the power of Nvidia’s 3d chip experience in Maingears gaming line of desktop computers. Last Monday we saw the Tegra 2 chips performance in the forthcoming Motorola Honeycomb tablet, while Andy Rubin was demoing it at All Things Digital D: Dive into mobile.

It’s been reported on the internet that the Nvidia Tegra 2 chipset can make graphics and 3d render 5x faster than they do on standard chipsets.

Tablets are expected to see a 40% growth across the board and in multiple OS platforms, a lot of them using Arm and now Nvidia technology.
