Earlier in the day I ran a story about LG and the Optimus line getting Gingerbread. In that story we used a press release from LG that clearly stated they would evaluate Gingerbread and decide if they will upgrade their Optimus line to the next version of Android.
Mere moments later LG has made a revision of that statement, and says that they will now upgdrare the Optimus line to Gingerbread. Dates of course are not yet available.
LG will upgrade all Optimus One smartphones currently using the Froyo OS to the next version of the Android OS, Gingerbread. Details of the upgrade schedule will be announced locally in due course. We sincerely apologize for the confusion and misunderstanding that was caused regarding this issue.
LG came underfire earlier this week when someone haphazardly posted on LG’s official Facebook account that they would not upgrade to Gingerbread because it wasn’t compatible.
