Michael Polzin, a spokesperson for national drug store chain, Walgreens, has said that an email list of customers who receive special offers has been breached. The good thing is it was only email addresses.
Polzin fears that the list may have been used to direct customers to another website seeking personal information. Polzin reiterrated that Walgreens personal information pertaining to contact info and very important prescription and medical information has NOT been compromised in any way and is kept on an entirely different system.
Walgreens became aware of the breach earlier in the week and has been contacting all the customers who may have had their email addresses compromised. Walgreens never asks for personal information including credit cards and social security numbers. Walgreens has been in contact with federal investigators regarding the incident
