Analyst after analyst and research firm after research firm keep echoing the same thing, Android is the fastest growing in the world. Late yesterday evening Google’s Vice President of Engineering in charge of Android, Andy Rubin, tweeted that Android was activating 300,000 devices per day.
This weeks data from analyst firm Strategy Analytics echoes the others and declares that Android is the fastest growing smartphone OS in the world. The graphic, provided by Strategy Analytics, shows Google towering shipments of iPhones by the millions. Strategy Analytics went on to say that Android has shipped more than twice as many handsets as their competitors in each of the last eight consecutive quarters.
In the most recent quarterly report Samsung overtook all of it’s manufacturer competition and became the largest vendor of Android handsets in the world. Just last Friday it was reported that Gartner declared Samsung to be the largest vendor of Android handsets in the United States.
Samsung has been consistently one of the top 3 providers of mobile phones in the world since 2001. Sine then their numbers have tripled. The latest announcement, that Samsung was the largest vendor of Android devices in the world, is no surprise based on the success of the Samsung Galaxy S line of phones.
