Crunchgear.com is reporting that component manufacturers are saying that we will start seeing Chrome OS devices this month. Acer has been talking about a Chrome OS notebook for months now. Acer released a dual boot notebook overseas this year which boots both windows and Android and has been praising the forthcoming Google OS from as far back as the summer.
These same component manufacturers are expecting an announcement from Google later this month about their own branded notebook with ChromeOS being manufactured by Inventec. Google has reportedly signed on for initial shipments of 60,000- 70,000 of these notebooks and doesn’t plan on selling them through traditional retail channels. The Google notebook will feature an Arm processing platform.
In addition to Acer, HP may also be on board with a Chrome OS tablet and Asustek is currently observing the market.
