Miren Browser for Android
This isn’t the first time I have done a browser as an App of the Week, but by now if you follow this segment, most of you know I am a fan of stock app replacements. Anyway, I have found yet another great browser. There are many in the market (I am a big fan of the Dolphin Browser) and this new one is pretty promising. I am talking about Miren Browser.
Miren Browser is great, and it isn’t because of some ground-breaking feature either; it’s the little things. The first thing I will touch on about Miren Browser is what they call a “Smart Full Screen”. The Smart Full Screen is where they take the entire browsing experience and make it full screen leaving all the tabs at the top to see. No loading bar or notification bar. This works so well because you have full screen and easy access to tab switching. Best of all, they don’t leave you stranded in the app without your precious notifications. At the bottom right corner a button pops up allowing you to see the notification bar AND the site loading progress.
Another great feature of this app is instant forward and back features. Let’s say you are on a site with a lot of pictures and video that doesn’t have a mobile version, it takes longer to load than others. But loading it over Miren loads the last page and keeps it so as soon as you click back you are instantly at that page with NO loading times. This is so helpful and can make browsing 10x faster.
The features don’t stop there either. This browser is pretty and smooth. At the launch of the browser you get all of your top sites. The pinch to zoom is super fast and smooth even on my original Droid. There is also a feature is the option to lock and unlock your orientation in the app simply by shaking your phone. You can also choose to set a brightness level just for the browser. Little things like this make the Miren Browser shine.
I love Miren Browser. It is my go-to browser because it is fast, streamlined, and has an excellent set of features already. I am looking forward to see how they can better it, but as of right now I love it. All of these are reasons that I have made Miren Browser this week’s App of the Week. Oh, and big bonus, it’s free.
