No Bellveue Washington based T-Mobile isn’t moving to Miami, and they aren’t launching some uber fast 5g speeds just yet however T-Mobile has announced a new partnership to become the official wireless partner for the Miami Heat. You may remember earlier this year some guy named LeBron James left Cleveland to join the Miami Heat, and now T-Mobile is joining the heat as well.
The Heat’s Dwayne Wade has already worked with T-Mobile in some commercial campaigns and now the rest of his 3 kings posse and the full team will join him.
As part of a three year deal T-Mobile becomes the official sponsor of both the Miami Heat and the American Airlines arena where they play all of their home games. The sponsorship package includes signage, strategic partneships, co-branding, special promotions, extensive in game features and exposure on English and Spanish radio. T-Mobile’s first in arena event will be Friday October 29th, the Heat’s first home game. They are having a season kick off party for anyone with a ticket to Friday’s game which will include a performance by Mr. 305 “Pit Bull”.
T-Mobile will have a presence at all home games. They are also going to be part of the “Noche Latina” initiatives which are set for three home games in March of 2011.
Eric Woolworth, President of the Heat Group’s Business Operations said “I’m pretty certain HEAT fans are already familiar with the superiority of the T-Mobile brand thanks to the numerous and memorable television commercials Dwyane Wade has starred in throughout the years,”
T-Mobile and Wade have worked together since the 2006-2007 season. Wade has stared in T-Mobile’s NBA commercials since then.
Derek Chang, Director of Sponsorships at T-Mobile said “Dwyane Wade has been one of our great partners, so this new sponsorship with the Miami HEAT is a natural fit,”
