Google announced their 3rd quarter results for 2010 earlier today. Overall they reported a gross income of $7.27 Billion which represents a 23% improvement over the same quarter last year ($5.94B)
Google owned sites generated revenue of $4.83 Billion, accounting for 67% of 3rd quarter revnues. In addition to the Google Search site this includes properties such as Youtube, and Blogger as well as others.
Google Network sites or “partner” sites generated $2.20 billion which accounts for 30% of total revenues.
According to Comscore Inc in Reston Virginia, after three months of losses in their search market business Google saw an increase in September to 66.1% which can be attributed to their new Google Instant search that starts populating search results as keys are typed into the home page.
Google also reported significant gains from mobile search and their Android business. Gartner reported earlier in the month that Android has taken over RIM as the number 1 smartphone OS in the United States.
