The Evo looks real good but have you looked at the map?

As the Droid Guy chances are on June 4th I will own an EVO I’m looking forward to it actually it will be a powerhouse perhaps my incredible and my nexus one will be jealous. The EVO is going to be awesome for me because I live in a 4G area but if you’re in Los Angeles, Philadelphia, Houston or Miami You know some of the biggest cities in the country, you won’t get to enjoy the full range of features offered in the “4G” feature set. In fact here is the complete list of the cities where you will be able to enjoy the “4G” part of your EVO. This isn’t about HTC it’s about Sprint. I will again tell you I live in a 4G area and LOVE their 4G speeds. I own an overdrive and have actually used my nexus one on wifi through the overdrive and it’s of course faster than T-Mobile’s 3G

Here is the list:
Seattle
Spokane
Reno
San Francisco
Billings
Omaha
Kansas City
Witchita
Albequerque
Phoenix
Tuscon
El Paso
San Antonio
Dallas
Little Rock
Indianapolis
St. Louis
Nashville
Charlotte
Columbia, SC
Jackson
Jacksonville
Tampa
Boston
New York
Pittsburgh
Washington DC
Baltimore
Louisville
Virginia Beach
That may look like an impressive list of cities but you’re talking about a country dominated by 3g and again there are some huge major cities not in there. Also with 3g it’s totally Metro coverage and doesn’t cover a lot of the shadow cities. Sure they are going to be deploying towers aggressively, but if you’re not in a city listed above you’re not in 4g coverage.

  4. Ok I have been searching and waiting for when 4G was coming to el paso but according to the "list" it already has it can someone confirm this. I know he says it covers el paso but I want to be sure and everywhere else I have looked does not mention if el paso will get 4G coverage or if it already has it.

  7. Atlanta, Philly and Houston are already lit up with 4G. You must not be old enough to remember when cell phones came out in the early '90s. You could not stand anywhere in the U.S. amd make cellphone call right off the bat, it took some time. There's still dead spots here and there. Same thing will happen with 4G.
